Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about CryptoGated.

General

What is CryptoGated?

CryptoGated is a platform for creating token-gated Telegram and Discord channels with SOL-based subscription payments. Hosts create paid channels, subscribers pay with Solana, and access is managed automatically.

What wallets are supported?

Any Solana wallet that supports Solana Pay QR codes, including:

  • Phantom — most popular, mobile and browser extension
  • Solflare — mobile and web
  • Backpack — mobile and browser extension

For manual payments, any wallet that can send SOL works.

Is there a minimum payment?

Hosts set their own prices — there's no platform-imposed minimum. Solana transaction fees apply (typically less than 0.001 SOL).

Subscribers

How fast do I get access after paying?

Usually within 10-30 seconds. The platform monitors the Solana blockchain in real-time and grants access as soon as your transaction is confirmed.

What happens when my subscription expires?

You'll lose access to the private channel. The host may have a grace period — extra days after expiry before you're actually removed. You can renew at any time from your dashboard.

Can I get a refund?

Refund policies are set by individual hosts. Since blockchain transactions are irreversible, refunds require the host to manually send SOL back. Contact the channel host directly for refund requests.

I paid but didn't get access. What do I do?

1

Check that the transaction was confirmed on Solana (use Solscan or Solana Explorer)

2

Make sure you sent to the correct address and the correct amount

3

Try refreshing your dashboard — the subscription may already be active

4

Wait 2-3 minutes — blockchain confirmation can sometimes take longer

5

Contact the platform admin if the issue persists

Hosts

What are the platform fees?

10% of each subscriber payment, capped at 0.05 SOL per payment.

0.01 SOL0.001 SOL (10%)0.009 SOL
0.1 SOL0.01 SOL (10%)0.09 SOL

What's the difference between managed and self-custody wallets?

Managed (Recommended)

  • CryptoGated creates and secures your wallet
  • Fees auto-deducted from payouts
  • Zero setup

Self-Custody

  • Your own wallet — payments go directly to you
  • Maintain a prepaid platform balance for fees
  • Full key control

What happens if my platform balance runs out? (Self-custody)

You have a 7-day grace period to top up. After 7 days with zero balance, your channels are paused — no new subscribers can join, but existing ones keep their access. Depositing SOL automatically unpauses your channels.

Can I have channels on both Telegram and Discord?

Yes. Each channel is tied to one platform, but you can create multiple channels across both platforms under the same host account.

How do I promote my channel?

Share Link

Copy your subscribe link (with QR code) and post on social media

Marketplace

Make your channel public so it appears in the marketplace

Spotlight

Pay for premium placement at the top of the marketplace

Promo Ads

Run timed promotional messages in your public channels

Referral Program

Coupon Codes

Create discounts to incentivize new sign-ups

Technical

What blockchain does CryptoGated use?

Solana. All payments are native SOL transfers monitored via Helius webhooks for real-time detection.

Is my private key safe?

Managed wallet private keys are encrypted with AWS KMS (Key Management Service). They are only decrypted in an isolated worker process with restricted permissions. The web server never has access to plaintext keys.

What happens if the platform goes down?

Existing channel access (Telegram/Discord) is not affected by platform downtime. Payment processing pauses until the platform is back online, at which point queued transactions are processed automatically.
